Meet Our Founder
Isayas Desale Berhe is the founder and CEO of the Heran Group.
Headquartered in Dubai, the Group provides a wide range of development opportunities for Africa including manufacturing, real state development, hospitality projects and fosfering international and regional trade. As the Heran Group’s visionary leader, Isayas works with companies, forward-thinking entrepreneurs and social changemakers that aim to transform Africa’s economies by creating employment opportunities.
Ultimately, we see great opportunity for Africa to emerge stronger than ever before and become economically sustainable with its people being upwardly mobile.

Isayas Desale Berhe
Born in Eritrea in 1978, Isayas learned entrepreneurship at an early age and started working in his family’s business. He helped his family with the sale of electronics and vehicles, a photo studio and a bakery at the age of 11. In 2003, he was instrumental in the construction and launch of his family’s hospitality offering, Sarina Hotel. Four years later, he moved to South Sudan to launch business operations in this rapidly growing economy.
His real estate and hospitality successes there include the country’s first internationally branded five-star hotel, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Juba, which the Heran Group has a 50% stake in.
Isayas launched operations in Kenya in 2013 (predominantly in real estate development and the sale of automobiles) and in Angola in 2015. The Heran Group’s Angolan subsidiaries are involved in various projects that support economic development across Africa. For example, the company supports the manufacturing of baby diapers and tissue-related products, and the importing of fast-moving consumer goods. The group also has a 20% stake in a tractor assembly plant.
A father of five, Isayas founded the Heran Group as a family business and his philosophy embraces helping others to be successful – empowering people to achieve more and rise up to new challenges. He belives his greatest achievement thus far is creating job opportunities for the more than 500 people the Heran Group employs.
Our Timeline
1978
Isayas is born in Keren, Eritrea.
1989
He begins working in his family’s businesses (including the sale of electronics and vehicles, a photo studio and a bakery).
2003
The family’s hospitality, Sarina Hotel, which Isayas was integral in completing, opens.
2007
Isayas moves to South Sudan and begins operating in the construction, real estate and trading sectors.
2011
Construction of Keren, an apartment complex in South Sudan’s capital, Juba, is completed.
2013
Isayas launches his first Kenyan subsidiary focusing on real estate development.
2014
The Heran Group’s headquarters in Dubai opens.
2015
Construction of HERAN Office Block is completed in Juba.
2015
The Group’s manufacturing subsidiary (a producer of diapers and paper products) begins operating in Angola.
2015
HERAN GROUP founded in 2015 is a full-service real
estate organization that provides a customized
menu of high-quality services tailored to all
across the United States.
2016
FMCG import trading begins in Angola.
2017
Kenyan subsidiary selling new and used automobile launches.
2019
20% investment made in an agricultural project (tractor assembly, implements and related accessories) in Angola.
